To The Work

By Larry R. Ping II

Once again, we find ourselves at the time of Labor Day, an American holiday in support of the "working man."  Obviously, many of us are in the work force physically, but ALL of us here should be in the work force SPIRITUALLY.

We sing a lot of songs with work as the theme.  They include

"I Want To Be A Worker For The Lord"

"In The Service Of My King"

"O The Things We May Do"

"To The Work"

"We'll Work Till Jesus Comes"

"Work For The Night Is Coming"

One cannot go to Heaven unless he is a working Christian.  We must be fruit bearers (John 15:1-8).  We must remember Paul's writings in Ephesians 4:1 where he pens "I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called."  Our job in life is to be a soul winner (Proverbs 11:30), and to help as many as we can get to and know about Heaven.

Below are listed some ways in which you can be a worker for the Lord.  You do want to be a worker for the Lord, right?

Teach A Bible Class Upstairs Or Downstairs

Teach A Home Bible Study

Host A Home Bible Study

Do Personal Work Here And At Home

Talk To Your Family & Friends About The Lord's Church

Encourage New Converts

Be A GOOD Example

And MANY, MANY Others…

So many want to know what they can do for the Lord.  This list is just a starter one.  We need to be mindful each day of our responsibility to be a worker for the Lord.  What kind of a worker are you?
