Opportunities To Serve The Lord

Larry R. Ping II

Often, I hear it said “I wish I could be a worker for the Lord, but there is just not anything around here that I can do!”  Consider the foolishness of this statement when you read the declaration of Christ in Matthew 9:37.  This is not the case anywhere, most certainly here in Mooresville!  There are always opportunities to serve the Lord at anytime, but there are plenty of built in ones right here.  Such as:

1.   Our Booth At The Old Settler’s Picnic.  We have secured a booth space for this year’s festival.  It is a GRAND opportunity to let all of the passers by know about the Church of Christ.  It also is a GREAT forum by which the visitors can ask questions that will lead to open doors.  I will be there all of the time.  But I have a sign up sheet with two hour intervals that need filling.  Will you be willing to sign up and sit down and pass out information or answer questions?  Just let me know of your interest, and you will be good to go!

2.   Passing Out Information To Our Neighbors.  Starting this Saturday, and for several weeks more, we will be going out to our neighbors (Matthew 22:39) and sharing with them the good news of the Word of God (I Corinthians 15:1-6). Are you too busy to share the Gospel?  Let us get in contact with as many neighbors as possible.  We will be charting our progress on the map on the bulletin board.

3.    Setting Up Home Bible Studies.  You may not feel comfortable or knowledgeable enough to “conduct” a Home Bible Study.  In time this will come.  But those two hurdles do not have to keep you from “setting” up a Home Bible Study.  Believe it, this is where the majority of conversions are going to come from.  Surely you have friends and family you wish could be converted, do you not?  Let us see how many Home Bible Studies we can get going here at Mooresville.  There is no telling the result of such a high level of activity.  What do you think?
