Isn’t It Strange

There was a time certain people said "We have
seen strange things to day" after witnessing a leprous man healed (Luke
5:26). Later in the New Testament,
others said that Paul had brought "strange things" to their
ears (Acts 17:20). Strange
happenings and sayings were not just for those days. Here are some things that are strange
nowadays.
1) Christians
Not Bringing Their Bibles To And From Services. Seeing that we are to be a studying people (II
Timothy 2:15) and should be trying to mimic the daily studying Bereans (Acts
17:11), it is very strange to see Christians come to the building without
their Bibles. Carpenters bring their
tools to work and athletes bring the necessary equipment to use as they
practice and play. The world's greatest
tool is the Bible (Romans 1:16) and we should have it close by at each
service to sharpen our knowledge and wisdom.
2) Christians
Who Do Not Sing. Once again, the Bible implores
us to sing (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16). Strangely though, there are those who claim
to be the Lord's people and do not sing, or if they do, it is with very little
effort and zeal. Enthusiastic singing is
not only commanded, but is a sign of merriness as well (James 5:13).
3) Christians
Who Fail To Realize The Scope Of Their Work. Our work as God's children extends past the
walls of this building…far past. It is
indeed strange to see Christians who feel, or act as if this is not true. Our vocation is clearly defined…teach and
aide the salvation of others' souls (Ephesians 4:1, Proverbs 11:30). When we exit the building, our light (Matthew
5:16) should shine brightly, bringing others to Jesus Christ. If you think that you can make it to Heaven
by simply showing up at the services, you are only fooling yourself.
4) Christians
Who Do Not Believe What H.as Been Written On This
Page. Very strange, to be sure, it would be to have
followers of God not subscribe to these thoughts. May we all do our best in serving our
Creator!
