Dangers of Non-Obedience

Larry R. Ping II

Many who have not obeyed the truth fail to see the dangers in those actions.  If you fall into this category, please think about the following.

Your Heart May Become Hard.   Those who have listened time and again to the Lord's Invitation be offered, and yet fail to render obedience make it a little easier to do the same the next time.  Hebrews 3:12,13 discuss the dangers of the hardened heart.  Those who have once obeyed but have fallen away can also fall prey to this condition.  Paul wrote that there were some "foolish hearts" that were "darkened" (Romans 1:21).  The peril in this verse is this:  When you finally decide to come back to the Lord, your heart may be too hard to finish the desired task.  Sound dangerous?  It does to me!

It Gives False Teachers And Doctrines A Chance.  We should give no place to the devil and his workers to plant seeds of doubt and false doctrine (Ephesians 4:27).  But when we fail to yield to the Lord's Will, that is exactly what we are doing.  When we have not fully committed ourselves (II Corinthians 8:5), we are, in a sense, keeping the door cracked.

If you have not yet obeyed, today is a great time to do so.  Not obeying will only lead to more and more dangerous times.  Obey today!
