By
Faith…

We
all know Hebrews 11 as the great chapter of faith. It tells us of wonderful characters and their
reliance and trust in God. Will your
faith allow you to do the same as these?
·
By faith…Abel offered. We
too are called on to offer ourselves as a "living sacrifice" (Romans
12:1,2). We
must give our best to God as we offer ourselves
·
By faith…Noah moved.
Getting to Heaven requires me to move.
I have to be active in the Lord's Work and be as concerned about it as
was Jesus (Luke 2:49).
·
By faith…Abraham went out.
Abraham was not aware of where he was going, he just
went. This perhaps is the most
striking example of faith. We know where
we are headed, but we are not quite sure how the journey will be. Trust in God (Psalm 2:12).
·
By faith…Moses refused. There
is a time to receive, but there is a time to refuse. There are times when we will have to put to
death evil and sinful things (Colossians 3:1-5). Do you have enough faith to do this?
·
By faith…Jericho fell.
What a time it must have been to walk around Jericho 13 times in total,
and to see the walls fall. We face
"walls" so to speak at times.
They may seem insurmountable, but they can be had with God's help and
our faith in Him (Matthew 19:26).
·
By faith…Rahab received the spies. A wise man walks with wise men (Proverbs
13:20). We must determine that we
will spend time with those of like faith, and resolve to stay away from bad
influences (I Corinthians 15:33).
We must be a helper of God's people!
·
By faith…Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jepthah,
David and Samuel. Do you
think that you have the kind of faith that would allow your admission into this
type of listing?
We all need to work on our faith, to make it stronger and more reliable. Without it, not a single man can be pleasing to God (Hebrews 11:6)!
